Cefn Sidan beach stretches for a stunning eight miles along the southern fringes of Carmarthenshire’s coastline. Overlooking Carmarthen Bay and the striking Gower peninsular, and on a good day, the remote island of Lundy, this spectacular Blue Flag beach could compete with anywhere else in the world! The beach is great for fishing and walking. Look out for jellyfish washed up at high water mark and as not all species sting, the most common one, moon jellyfish, trap plankton while pulsing itself through the water. If too windy, head inland to explore Pembrey Country Park and forest, the whole area open to public access. This is The Longest Beach in Wales and it stretches from Llanelli to Kidwelly.

Barafundle Bay
is considered not only one of the most beautiful beaches in the UK but also in the world, appearing in top 20 lists on many occasions. Part of the Stackpole estate and under the care of the National Trust this breathtaking beach is a remote haven of tranquility. Access to the beach is by steps along the cliff edge which unfortunately makes it unsuitable for wheelchairs or push chairs. The sand is golden and the water is incredibly clear, two features that contributed to the beach being awarded a seaside award and a green coast award. If you are thinking of visiting the Pembrokeshire Coast for a day during your holiday away then Barafundle Bay is a beach not to be missed. It is brilliant for swimming and the expansive golden sand framed with wild sand dunes make it a good place for families to play and relax. Cyfarthfa Castle |
